Addendum F: Uh-oh. Franken Caught ... Lying.
There's a lot more to this one, but here is the "TV Guide version."
In July 2005, New York City's Department of Investigation began looking into a questionable monetary transaction between Air America, Franken's radio outlet, and the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club, a nonprofit organization serving underprivileged youth in New York. Research reveals that this "loan" totaled $875,000. In late July, a number of small media outlets began to report on this very suspicious arrangement. Michelle Malkin and Brian Maloney deserve tremendous credit for advancing this story, and they are absolute must-reads if you want to learn more about this. [Go here, here, here, here, and here.]
Here's the lie: On the August 8, 2005, episode of his radio show, Franken addressed the growing scandal, and he told his audience this: "I didn't know anything about this until late last week."
Let's see ... "Late last week" would be August 4th or 5th. Well, the New York Daily News ran this tidbit on July 26, 2005, nearly two weeks before August 8; Malkin and Maloney began their reporting July 27. The New York Sun published a report on the scandal on August 1, 2005. But you "didn't know anything about this," Al? Hmmm ...
More damaging, however, is that papers now reveal that Al Franken personally signed a settlement agreement in November 2004. This agreement included detailed information about the Gloria Wise deal -- the exact same deal which Franken claimed he "didn't know anything about"!
Here's the documentation, as found on Brian Maloney's Radio Equalizer and at Michelle Malkin's site.

Not good, is it?
